Artemis was the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and protector of young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women; she often was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows and the deer and the cypress were sacred to her. This statue depicts Artemis with bow and arrow in hand, her wild hair and cloak flowing around her, with her doe companion by her side. Made of cold cast resin, it measures 11 3/4 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches long, 4 inches wide, and the beautiful bronze finish is accented by subtle hints of color.
